I don’t have a post to link up right now, but I wanted to share that my daughter recited Psalm 143:1-4 for her homeschool class presentation time 2 weeks ago. I asked her if she wanted to do more since she knew up to verse 6 but she said she didn’t want to. =p

She will be memorizing John 1:1-7 (in Latin) for this year with that class. She will learn the English too, so I think I will try memorizing that soon.

      So exciting!

…Latin huh? Crazy! What a resource!

      Thanks for sharing, Joyce!

Great job, Christine! Hard work, but worth it, isn’t it!

      May God be glorified!

I do not have a link to post so I just thought that I would share that I am trying to memorize a couple verses from the “Abiding Fruit” bible study. I am working on Galatians 5:16-26 (I think. I can’t remember the references very well right now.) :) and John 15: 1-11. I also, through the study fell in love with John 20:31 so I am memorizing that as well. I think I have it down but want to make sure it is in my long term memory. I have a box that I try to go through everyday with daily verses, every other day verses, weekly verses, and monthly verses. Each of our kids has a box too, but they are doing much better than I am thanks to AWANA and Biblebee.

Wow that’s amazing that you posted your link up on the same day I decided to post about memorising! I had completely forgotten about the link up until it came up in my Google Reader :) Anyway, it’s nice to be encouraged by reading of other people at it as well!

Also my kids have just started Sonlight and are memorising a verse a week with that. It is really cool to hear them (4 and 5 yrs) reciting the verses with the references!

I don’t have a link to share YET… but this is a good challenge for me. I LOVE Romans 8 – one of my favorite chapters in the whole Bible!!! I can create a powerpoint that’s like a “movie” – you can display it on your computer or the way I do it is, I copy the powerpoint slideshow to a thumb drive and plug that into my TV and watch it. I’ll play soft music too — just to get the full affect. ;)

My son memorizes a new verse each week. He’s only 3, so I create his homeschool stuff, to save me money right now. He’s already up to 15 different verses and each month we review them. I’ve put all his verses into a “Bible” that we made and we’ll go through them during the last week of the month to review. It’s so awesome to have the Word in your heart. I’m thankful my parents did this for me and I get to do the same for my own son… for I can still recall MANY of the verses I memorized as a kid.
